Dr. Samina Quraishi-Chavez

Dr. Samina Quraishi-Chavez, DAC, the founder of Comuni Acupuncture (formerly called Queens Acupuncture), is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Dr. Quraishi is a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York (ASNY), a member of the Florida State Oriental Medical Association (FSOMA), a member of the American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA) currently serving on the national insurance committee. She was certified by the National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA), and she is also trained in animal acupuncture. Dr. Quraishi served as a Supervising Professor of Acupuncture at New York College of Health Professions, a lecturer at Queensboro Community College, and has been featured on NY1 News. Over the years, Dr. Quraishi has provided acupuncture treatments to well-known celebrities in addition to practicing in numerous hospitals and organizations in the New York metropolitan area including:

  • St. Vincent's Hospital HIV Center

  • The Hospital for Joint Disease

  • St. John's Riverside Hospital at Yonkers

Dr. Quraishi was awarded both a Doctorate degree & Master of Science degree in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health and Science where she attended the New York and the San Diego campuses. She received additional Chinese herbal medicine training through Virginia University of Integrative Medicine’s program in East Asian Nutrition/Chinese Herbal Medicine. Prior to making a career change into Acupuncture, Dr. Quraishi was an Accountant. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Public Accounting with a minor in English from Baruch College. She had a successful career working for Fortune 500 companies, and was an auditor at one of the Big 4 international accounting firms. She decided at some point to return to college to make a career change into something she found more rewarding and gratifying.
